2005 Virginia Grand Champion Fleet Safety Award Winner
The management team at COX Transportation Services is very proud to recognize our men and women professional truck drivers that have collectively achieved the 2005 top safety award presented by the Virginia Trucking Association for fleet safety in Virginia. Often, these professionals we call “Highway Heroes” are taken for granted as they go about the difficult task of safely delivering America’s consumer goods throughout the USA!

2006 Virginia Grand Champion Fleet Safety Award Winner
The management team at COX Transportation Services is extremely proud to once again recognize our men and women professional drivers for collectively achieving the 2006 top safety award presented by the Virginia Trucking Association for fleet safety in Virginia. Winning this award two years in a row is quite an accomplishment and we are so proud of our professional drivers and the tough job that they do. It is so true that America moves as a result of trucks driven by safe and competent professional drivers, and we are so fortunate to have some of the best.

2006 Safety Professional of the Year
The management team at COX Transportation Services is pleased to announce that Sam Tittle, our Vice President-Human Resources and Risk Management, has been recognized by the Virginia Trucking Association as the 2006 Safety Professional of the Year. The plaque Sam received stated “Sam Tittle is recognized for outstanding contributions to safety in the trucking industry and on Virginia’s highways." We’re so proud of Sam and the good job he does in making sure our trucks travel safely along America’s highways.

2005 5-axle Sleeper Berth Champion
Virginia Trucking Association Truck Driving Championship Rodeo
We congratulate our own Ron Wiseman as the 2005 1st Place, 5-Axle Sleeper Berth Champion of The Virginia Trucking Association annual statewide “Truck Driving Championship Rodeo” held in Lexington, VA. Competing drivers and teams from all over Virginia were in attendance representing many different companies. It is truly a difficult challenge of both general knowledge and actual road course competitions.

This statewide rodeo is extremely difficult since generally the “Best of the Best” come prepared to show off their truck driving skills with extreme pressure and intense high-level competition. It requires a thorough knowledge of safety, highway rules and regulations, and an awful lot of actual truck driving skills. Ron Hebb competed in the 5-axle day-cab category and represented COX well, but finished just outside of the top three spots. We were proud of his competition and are grateful for his willingness to put his talent on the line. Everyone knew that Ron Wiseman did extremely well in the “driving skills competition” but it is a combination of that as well as his written testing. The winners of various categories were not announced until after the awards banquet on Saturday evening. What a great weekend for Ron Wiseman and for the entire Cox Team as well. Pictured to the right are John Cox and Jay Smith on the following Monday morning when Ron arrived with his Championship Trophy proudly in hand.
